Spring Cleaning and Décor Essentials

By April 18, 2022April 26th, 2022No Comments

As we’re getting closer to the spring season, warmer weather approaches, and new journeys begin on the horizon. A fresh start begins by doing a little spring cleaning around our homes. As we become surrounded by the fresh scent, we might think of a change in scenery. Here are some spring cleaning and décor essentials that might benefit your pristine/idealistic taste.

Here is a list to help you get started with your spring cleaning.

However, if you would like to try to declutter/organize your home, check out one of our blog posts.

1) Fresh Flowers

Preservatives For Cut Flowers - Tips For Feeding Fresh Cut FlowersAs the flowers are blooming, the sweet aroma fills the air. Instead of using fake flowers, try using real ones to help brighten up a room. From the bright colors to the fresh scents, it’s hard to choose which flowers are right for the springtime décor.

The best flowers to use for the spring season are daisies, tulips, primroses, wallflowers, daffodils, etc. The best colors for springtime décor are mostly pastels. Think Easter colors with bright pinks, purples, blues, and yellows.

The combination of a clean house and freshly cut flowers is perfect for a warm or cool spring day. They make the atmosphere appear bright and spotless.

2) Essential Oils

After finishing your spring cleaning in the bathroom, the strong scent of chemicals fills the air. Not only that, but some areas can leave a lasting odor that can make the room smell odd. Firstly, you can just light up a candle but they only mask the lingering odors instead of getting rid of them completely. Secondly, you can use an air freshener spray but the scent only lasts for a brief moment. Lastly, you can use a plug-in freshener, but you have to buy refills. If you want to have a fresh scent whenever you walk into the bathroom every time, try an essential oil.

You can use a diffuser, but you can use the oils by themselves so you don’t have to go buy a new gadget. Here are some helpful hacks:

  1. Place 1-2 drops inside the toilet paper roller.
  2. Take two cotton balls and place 5 drops on each of them. Next, put them inside the trash can before putting a bag inside.
  3. Put 1-3 drops in the corners of the room
  4. Put 10 drops into the shower before use. Also, your next shower will smell amazing.
    • BONUS: If you are having spring allergies, use Peppermint oil in the shower to help clear your sinus congestion quicker.

In the midst of the pandemic, we’ve been loading up on essentials and disinfectant materials to keep us safe. Even though things have died down, we must not forget that COVID can still happen in our homes. Wherever we go, we can possibly get infected by anyone or anything we touch. That’s why it’s a good idea to disinfect most used surfaces to fight off germs and bacteria.

After cleaning up your surfaces/areas, you can disinfect them by either using a spray or wipes. This method can protect not only your household but your friends and family whenever they come over. We all must remember that COVID is still out there and still affects many people. Remember to stay safe out there.
